This year, we co-bred a litter with TailWind Basenjis. Four healthy puppies (two females and one male) were born on February 3, 2009.
The sire is AKC CH TailWind DP Rockets Red Glare SC, "Diamond," and the dam is SBOS AKC/UCICB CH Tambuzi Kelele (Australian import).
Both Diamond and Kelele have had the necessary health-testing, including eyes that are free of any congenital defects, OFA Good hips, and the newly developed linked-marker DNA test for Fanconi Syndrome. We are pleased to report that Kelele is clear of Fanconi syndrome. Diamond does carry the Fanconi gene, which means that he can pass on the Fanconi gene, but will not produce offspring affected with Fanconi when bred to a bitch who does not carry the Fanconi gene. This outcross breeding should produce sound puppies with great temperaments and excellent conformation.
